ARTICLES OF INCORPORATING “PASS” PAKAMERICAN SCHOLASTIC SOCIETY IN OREGON, USA.

Article I- The name of organization is Pak American Scholastic Society. Registry No. 248313-98 registered with Corporation Division, Oregon as nonprofit Domestic Corporation.

Article II- Offices.  The main office would be at 5802 N Yale street Portland, OR 97203 Phone 503 285 5050

Article III- Purposes of the corporation.

1- Establishing nonprofit educational projects in Pakistan

2- Provide educational scholarships to needy, intelligent students.

3- Writing educational books about Pakistani and American aspects.

4- Nurturing feeling of friendship between Pakistani and American institutions.

5- Provide an edge in practical and laboratory education.

Article IV-    Membership- Membership will be open to all interested in Third World education. Members will be solicited from Portland area schools. Joining fee will be nominal at one dollar per year. Active email participation will be expected of all members. All important matters will be communicated through email and educational website. Their responses will count toward directional policies.

Article-V-   Board of Directors.

Four members will constitute the Board of Directors which will carry out major activities. They will be responsible for disbursement of funds and all policy matters. Their participation by email and phone will be allowed. Majority vote will count and chairman would have extra vote.

He will keep track of funds raised from US sources, their utilization for nonprofit education and all other undertakings in Pakistan and USA. He will keep an open verifiable account of all locally raised funds.

Director Public Affairs. Dr Macksood Aftab. Boston Massachusetts phone 810 814 3460 email….He would help in raising funds from US resources. He would oversee all the affairs of this corporation.

Director Curricular activities. Dr Ilyas Ahmad. Portland Oregon Phone 9712359722 email…..   He would help with developing and enhancing educational curriculum. He would collect and supply educational materials for the projects.

Compensation. Board members or other members will not be paid any salaries or compensation unless directly involved in teaching or managing the projects. Board of directors would decides unanimously about the compensation of the employees. Travel expenses and minor allocations may be allowed with permission of Board of Directors.

Removal and Vacancies: Board of Directors may remove a member other than chairman if prejudicial or inattentive to the cause of the organization. They may appoint new members for a term of 3 years. Membership will be renewable upon payment of dues.

Meetings:  Annual meeting will be in the month of August, in Portland, Oregon unless a different time and place are decided by Board of directors. Phone and email participation will be allowed. All members will be encouraged to attend in person or by electronic media. Major decisions will be by general meetings.

Article VI  Committees

Executive Committee will comprise of Board of Directors. They would have authority to make day to day decisions. Other committees will be organized as the project grows. All the information will be kept available on website www.educationforpakistan.com. The committees will be elected by general election in annual or special meetings.
